Cervical Decompression for Herniated Discs in the Neck

Nonsurgical spinal decompression to the cervical spine has become a very popular treatment option for herniated disc patients. After-all, who wouldn’t want to avoid neck surgery.

The machine we use at our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center is the DRX9000c. The DRX9000c is the companion to the DRX9000 lumbar decompression system. In fact…they connect to one another.

We have been providing spinal decompression services in San Francisco for over 6 years now and the results have been outstanding. Cervical decompression typically takes about 6-8 weeks from beginning to end. Sessions are an hour long. The decompression therapy itself is 30 minutes on the DRX9000c. Then we do muscle stimulation for 10 minutes. Then, 10 minutes of ice.

Cervical decompression enlarges the disc space, elongates the spine, strengthens the spinal ligaments, repositions the herniated disc, re-hydrates the disc, and gives the herniated disc a chance to repair itself. The muscle stimulation teaches the spinal muscles to work with the spine in it’s new position. The ice helps to reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms. We also incorporate massage, deep tissue laser, and exercise into our treatment protocols.

Does cervical decompression work for everyone we treat?

NO…just the overwhelming majority of them.

Is Cervical Decompression Safe?

YES…the only side effect is occasional soreness.

Is Spinal Decompression Expensive?

It depends what you compare it to. Compared to neck surgery cervical decompression is cheap. Compared to Aspirin it’s expensive. For about the same price as a vacation for two to Hawaii ($5000) you can go through the entire program. A small price to pay to get your life back. We have payment plans with no interest.

Is Spinal Decompression for me?

That’s for you to decide. Whatever you do don’t let someone else decide for you. The only way to know if spinal decompression can fix your disc herniation is to try it for yourself. The worst case scenario is that is does not help and you are out some time and money. The worst case scenario for neck surgery is that you bones are fused together and you are still in pain. Surgery should be a last resort.

What should I do next?

If you live, work, or have the ability to stay in San Francisco for 6 weeks or so you can see us. Otherwise, you can send me your zip code (ebendavis@yahoo.com) and I can locate a DRX9000 or DRX9000c near where you live.
